ABOUT SIMPLY KIDS YOGA: |
Simply Kids Yoga (SKY) is a yoga school dedicated entirely to kid's yoga, and is run by Kylie Peters. Classes are taught to a variety of enthusiastic students in public halls, childcare centres, primary schools, high schools and in school curriculum. All SKY classes are taught in the spirit of fun and friendship, with compassion, encouragement, and the greatest of care and respect for each individual student.
Classes start from babyhood (with a Mums & Bubs class) and are then grouped in age ranges up to 18 years of age in the following environments:
- Gallery Spaces, Scout Halls, and Primary School Halls
- Child Care Centres, Preschools and Kindergartens
- Primary Schools as an extra curricular activity
- High Schools as an extra curricular activity
- In curriculum such as School Sport and the Year 9 Life Long Activities classes
- At Birthday parties tailored to your child's favourite theme
- In private homes
At SKY we believe that children deserve to be taught Yoga by qualified, professional yoga teachers, in order to properly and safely adapt yoga for individual needs and health concerns in a fun, relaxed and playful way. The emphasis in every SKY class is on safety, care, fun and play, group connection, imagination, strength, flexibility, freedom, expression, confidence, peace and relaxation.

Kylie is the director of Simply Kids Yoga (SKY) and has been a dedicated kids yoga teacher for many years. She has written the popular, engaging and evolving SKY curriculum and Yoga program for 2 - 3 yos and 3 - 5 yos, and runs the professional development Kids Yoga Teacher Training series for qualified yoga teachers. Kylie runs a mentorship and training program for all SKY teachers before they teach yoga to children.
Kylie Peters is a dynamic, approachable and creative yoga teacher, who resonates intuitively with the needs of her students, from babies to adults.
Kylie has an endless supply of energy and passion for teaching playful, fun, challenging, yet peaceful and relaxing yoga to people of all ages. She delights in watching her students as they progress with yoga, playfully making new discoveries and connections.
Kylie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sydney, which includes two years of education training (secondary school). She holds an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching through the Nature Care College, and earlier completed a yoga teaching apprenticeship with the esteemed, Eve Grzybowski. Kylie has been certified in the Yoga for the Special Child program, a yoga program for babies, children and teenagers with special needs. Kylie has also completed the Radiant Child Yoga Program Levels I, II and III, Yoga for Children Workshop with the Australian Institute of Yoga, Satyananda Yoga in Education Workshop, Prenatal and Mums & Bubs Yoga Teacher Training Workshop at Samadhi Yoga, and Yoga Therapeutics Teacher Training with Judith Lasater (The Vertebral Column and Asana, and the Practice, Theory and Teaching of Restorative Yoga). She is a professional member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia.
Kylie has previously worked in childcare and at Kid's Island, The Australian Museum, as well as with the Good Fairies of the East. She studied acting at The Ensemble Acting Studios and at Bradfield College.
Kylie is also a proud mum to her beautiful little girl, Sky De Giorgio, born in October 2007. Kylie currently teaches our Mums and Bubs Yoga classes, and Baby Sky
is a great baby yoga demonstrator in these classes! |

Hilde Tonnevold, (L1 Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, L1 Kids Yoga Teacher Training: Yoga for Littlies (2 - 5 yos) and Yoga for Primary School Aged Children,

Hilde has worked as a nanny for many years prior to the birth of her daughter (who is now four years old). Hilde completed her Level 1 Kundalini Instructor Certification through the Kundalini Research Institute in 2005 and completed her Reiki Level 2 certification in 2003. After completing the SKY L1 Kids Yoga Teacher Training: Yoga for Primary School Aged Children in 2006, Hilde decided to join Simply Kids Yoga . She felt drawn to the compassionate approach we have at SKY when working with children and immediately wanted to be a part of our team.
Hilde has trained as a Kids Yoga Teacher with SKY, undergoing an individual mentorship program with Kylie Peters using the SKY programs for 2- 5 year olds in child care centres and kindergartens. She has also completed the Kids Yoga Teacher Training workshops with Kylie: SKY L1 Kids Yoga Teacher Training: Yoga for Littlies and Yoga for Primary School Aged Children.
Hilde believes that exposing children to yoga is the greatest gift we can give, as yoga provides an excellent foundation for body-mind responsibility and to prepare children for their future. |

After completing an intensive training with Yoga Arts in Bali in 2002, Sonika went on to complete the Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teacher Training at Nature Care College in 2005. Her love and curiosity for the human body and spirit began on her travels to India 10 years ago when on returning home she completed her diplomas of Remedial Massage and Aromatherapy at the Australasian College of Natural Therapies in 2001.
Returning twice to India to study with Pottabis Jois ( Founder of Ashtanga Yoga) and with world renowned teachers at the Purple Valley School of Yoga, Sonika’s passion for yoga has transformed her adult life. She believes that yoga’s gift is its adaptability and availability for everyone and anyone. This led her to share her joy of yoga with children. She completed the Radiant Child Yoga Programs I, II and III, and has completed the Kids Yoga Teacher Training workshops, SKY L1 Kids Yoga Teacher Training: Yoga for Littlies (2 - 5 yos) and L2 Yoga for Primary School Aged Children with Kylie Peters. Sonika is undergoing an ongoing full mentorship support programme with Kylie using the SKY programs for 2- 5 year olds in kindergartens and child care centres.
Sonika aims to bring mind, body and spiritual awareness to children of all ages to support them throughout all their changes and growth into adulthood. |

Andonia was drawn to become a Simply Kids Yoga Teacher because of our passion for teaching quality yoga to kids, and the ongoing mentorship and support each of our teachers receives. Andonia is clearly passionate about teaching yoga to children, and feels honoured to empower kids with positive tools to boost their self-confidence and assist them in becoming empowered adults.
Andonia completed her Yoga Teacher Training with the Australian Association of Yoga In Daily Life in Sydney, and then in India with Mahamandaleshwar Paramhans Swami Maheshwarananda ( the founder of the Yoga in Daily Life System). She is undergoing an ongoing full mentorship support program with Kylie Peters using the SKY programs for 2-5 year olds in kindergartens and child care centres.
Andonia’s background also includes experience in developing public policy, particularly child protection and adoption policy, and has experience volunteering with Barnardos Australia for the Kids Friend Program, and at the Prince of Wales Children’s Hospital. |

Veroniki is over the moon about joining Simply Kids Yoga and for the opportunity to teach yoga to children! Her path in life led her to studying and working in several countries including South Korea where she worked as a kindergarten, primary and elementary school teacher. She treasured the time spent with her students as she became fascinated with their honesty, energy and simple outlook on life.
Yoga has been a big part of Veroniki’s life for many years. She completed her yoga teacher training at Yoga Vidya Gurukul Ashram in India, as she felt a strong desire to train where yoga originated. Her time in India influenced and changed her life tremendously and she wanted to share the gift of yoga with everyone.
Veroniki was overjoyed to come across Kylie and Simply Kids Yoga, as working as a SKY Teacher fulfils her passions for yoga and working with children. She is currently undergoing a training and mentorship program with Kylie using the SKY programs in child care centres. She is dedicated to teaching children in the most compassionate way, and believes that we can all learn from children as much as they can learn from us. Veroniki is confident that yoga will influence her students in many wonderful ways on all levels of their lives. |
