Mum and Tots classes TBC for 2012
A wonderful opportunity for a hatha yoga class focusing on alignment and individual needs of each mum, whilst your toddler also has some Toddler Yoga time in class and watches Mum as she role models self nurturing, strength and flexibility, peace and harmony, and the importance of yoga relaxation for both toddler and mum!
This class is the next step on from Mums & Bubs Yoga for the Toddler, who learns and practices yoga in a fun kids yoga way. They take mini journeys in helicopter pose or aeroplane pose, they work on standing balances such as trees and stars, handstands and wheelbarrows. The Toddlers Yoga is a complete mini yoga session in 10 minutes at the beginning of the class, including songs and standing poses, partner poses, seated forward bends, back bends, twists, quite time and namaste before it's Mums turn. During the Mums section of the class, Toddlers are welcome to join in any pose, and often do. At other times, they are involved in practicing their social skills as they get to know their new friends, as they share each other's toys, books and wander to each Mum whilst they practice their poses. Relaxations for mums often include the Toddlers, or the Toddlers have quite play during the relaxation section of the class.
This is a unique class which teaches the power of presence very well, and hones the abilities to have a flexible attitude to life!
As class sizes are small, younger siblings are welcome in the class as are pregnant mums. At one point we had two pregnant mums and two newborns in the class. Everyone's individual needs are catered for in each sequence and pose, and sometimes the classes are run as individual practices.
Usually Kylie discusses with individual mums when to move from the Mums and Bubs Class into this Mums & Toddler class.
Classes include:
* Fun Toddler Yoga that is developmentally appropriate for the age range in the class
* Special bonding experiences for Mums and Toddlers through yoga.
* Strengthening pelvic floor, abdomen and lower back for Mum.
* Realign and rebalance your body, releasing muscle tension and soreness.
* Restful, restorative and recuperative yoga for pure exhaustion.
* Yoga practices for home use.
The classes are taught by Kylie Peters (Director & Founder of Simply Kids Yoga).
